WWE Results from Wichita, Kansas 3/12/04:

Sarah Michelle Gellar v. Salma Hayek

Gellar controlled the better part of the match.  The ending came as Hayek was making a mini-comeback, administering two chops to Gellar's chest and then whipping her to the ropes.  Gellar ducked a clothesline attempt, came off the ropes on the opposite side and hit a flying leg-scissors.  Gellar immediately dragged up the woozy Hayek by the hair, hit an over-the-knee backbreaker/side suplex combo.  She waited for Hayek to rise, then hit the staggered Latina sex-bomb with a superkick.  Hayek was out even before falling limply to the canvas.  Gellar hooked the left-leg and cross-body pinned the groggy Hayek for the win at 8:04.  Gellar left the ring immediately after the win.  Hayek moved slightly after the pin, and was able to roll over and lie on her side, her legs curled up.  She was laid out in the ring for five minutes, but regained full consciousness, and was able to leave the ring with assistance, clutching her jaw.  Sarah Michelle Gellar d. Salma Hayek in 8:04 with a Superkick.

Angelina Jolie v. Demi Moore with Vanessa Williams at ringside.

Going in this was touted as a big match for both competitors.  The luscious Angelina Jolie had been on a losing streak after regaining her elite competitor status earlier this year.  Ageless Demi Moore was hoping to continue her winning ways in her march towards a championship match.  As usual, Moore had Vanessa Williams at ringside as insurance, though Williams had done more than just spectate in Moore's many tainted wins.

The match was largely back and forth.  The finish came as Jolie had Moore locked in the STF, one of Jolie's finishing moves.  Jolie was wrenching Moore's headbackward violently, and the tearful, screaming Moore was on the verge of tapping out.  However, Williams used this opportunity for her only intervention in the match.  Williams slid into the ring and clobbered the referee over the head with a two-fisted axe-bomber-- just enough to knock her senseless but not unconscious.  Moore at that moment tapped out her submission, which caused Jolie to release the hold and raise her hand in victory.  As Jolie paraded around the ring, she failed to notice Williams until Jolie turned into Williams's devastating spinning kick.  The maneuver caught Jolie square in the face, and Jolie went down, stunned.  Williams saw that Jolie was not out yet.  Williams picked up Jolie, lifted her into bodyslam position and then knocked her senseless with a Michinoku Driver.  Jolie's body collapsed lifelessly to the map and she lay still.  Williams dragged Moore, who was still in significant pain and draped her over Jolie, and then revived the referee, who counted the pinfall victory for Moore in 9:17.  Williams helped Moore to the back immediately after the match.  Angelina Jolie lay in an unconscious, unmoving heap for the next five minutes.  She did not revive, and had to be carried by two attendants to the back, one supporting her torso and head and the other grasping her by the legs.  Demi Moore d. Angelina Jolie in 9:17 with outside interference from Vanessa Williams.

Tyra Banks v. Laetitia Casta in a number one contender match.

Tyra used a pre-match interview to hype the fact that she was the biggest, strongest, and most overwhelming wrestler in the WWA, and despite Laetitia's ability and high-ranking, she would beat the young Frenchwoman with her One Arm Powerbomb or her Lightning Strikes Top Rope Leg Bomb.  Laetitia used her interview time, and in her soft french accent asserted that Tyra may be big and strong, but she was smarter and more skilled, and that she would prevail with her French Kiss Reverse Neckbreaker, or the Superkick.

It was back and forth action for about two thirds of the match until Tyra gained a decisive advantage over Laetitia with a crushing, sudden right cross to the jaw.  Tyra then began working Laetitia over with a series of devastating throws and slams.  Laetitia never gained the advantage again.  The finish came when Tyra scooped up the helpless french girl and hit her with a running powerslam, then hit three consecutive elbow drops to the head.  Tyra waited for Laetitia to rise, then grabbed her body and administered a turning spinebuster.  It looked as though Tyra injured Laetitia at this point while driving her ribs into the mat with her shoulder.  Laetitia was in pain, clutching her ribs and lying on her back with her knees raised.  Tyra pulled Laetitia up again, and grabbed her in a punishing bear hug.  Laetitia was sobbing with the pain, but endured the hold for three minutes.  Tyra dropped Laetitia with an inverted atomic drop, then a short arm clothesline, and then went to the top for the Lightning Strikes Flying Leg Bomb.  Laetitia clearly didn't know where she was and was too weakened by the punishment her body had taken to roll out of the way, and took the blow full-force across the head, neck and chest.  Tyra pinned Laetitia for two, but pulled the helpless Laetitia up by the hair at the last moment, then immediately hit her with the One Arm Powerbomb (a stretch bomb hold into a sitout chokeslam).  If she weren't totally unconscious before, Tyra drove Laetitia into oblivion, and Tyra kneeled on Laetitia's chest and across her face.  Laetitia didn't resist the pin at all, and Tyra got the win at 15:51.  After the match, Tyra stood up and put one foot on Laetitia's face and raised her arms above her head in a victory pose.  Then lay down on the ground, her face close to Laetitia's and verbally taunted the unconscious beauty for a few minutes before leaving the ring.  Laetitia did not regain consciousness and was removed from the ring by medical personnel.  Post-match, she was evaluated and diagnosed with a concussion and bruised ribs only.  She was placed on the injured list for a week.  Tyra was awarded the number one contender ranking.  Tyra Banks d. Laetitia Casta in 15:51 with both the Lightning-Strikes Leg Bomb and the One Arm Powerbomb.  Laetitia was humiliated by being pulled up at a count of 2, kneel-pinned, victory posed upon, and verbally taunted while unconscious.

Chae An v. Gillian Anderson

Chae An had been on a long losing streak, and the story of the match was that it didn't get any better for the unfortunate Chae, as she was up against former WWA champion and a very cruel woman in Gillian Anderson.  Chae had appeared to be losing confidence, as the once 3rd ranked grappler had fallen preciptiously in the standings, and had suffered multiple humiliating losses.  Sadly for Chae this match was to be no different.  Chae was wearing a black bikini and black calf-high wrestling boots.  Gillian was wearing her traditional yellow two-piece and black boots.  Chae hardly had the advantage, as Gillian outwrestled her at the outset of the match, wearing her down with body and head holds, threw her outside the ring where Chae unfortunately was thrown headfirst into the ring steps and backfirst into the steel ringpost.  Gillian then rolled Chae's lifeless body into the ring, and followed shortly after.  Gillian dragged Chae up by the hair, but Chae was so deeply unconscious she was dead-weight in Gillian's hands.  Gillian dropped Chae back to the mat and paintbrushed her across the face, slapping her face and body until Chae awoke, a twisted painful expression contorting her face.  Gillian savagely yanked Chae to her feet, booted her in the gut, and hoisted her up into piledriver position.  Gillian then backed into the ropes, and hit Chae with her finishing move, the Rainbow Piledriver (a K-driller piledriver, as it is known in Japan, or a walking sit out piledriver).  Chae's body collapsed and she toppled sideways in a heap.  Gillian pushed Chae until she was lying flat, didn't bother to hook the leg, and then pinned her barely touching her body for the uncontested pin at 12:15.  After the referee counted Chae out, Gillian waited about 30 seconds until she began to stir, then grabbed her by the hair again, and hit yet another Rainbow Piledriver.  Chae was out, and hurt, and Gillian exited the ring and started towards the back.  However, Gillian turned around and returned to the ring, sliding a steel chair in before her.  Chae wasn't moving at all, so Gillian laid the chair flat on the mat, dragged up the completely limp Chae and, with some difficulty, hoisted her again into piledriver position, and hit yet a third Rainbow Piledriver, this time onto the chair.  The crash of Chae's head on the chair was audible throughout the arena.  Chae fell to the mat a third time.  Gillian tossed the chair out of the ring, stared at Chae for a few seconds before mounting her helpless body.  Placing one hand on Chae's breast, Gillian pushed Chae's face to the side and taunted her verbally calling her a "slut" and a "loser".  Gillian asked the unconscious Chae if she enjoyed being a "helpless bitch".  Chae's face was expressionless, her eyes closed and her lips parted.  Gillian then raised both arms in victory and received a loud chorus of boos.  Gillian left the ring.  Chae lay unconscious, her head to the side for about 5 minutes, did not regain consciousness, and had to be removed from the ring by medical personnel.  She was diagnosed post-match with a concussion and a neck strain, and was placed on the injured list for 7 days.  Gillian Anderson defeated Chae An in 12:15 with her Rainbow Piledriver.  After the match Chae was humiliated by a subsequent Rainbow Piledriver while unconscious, and then by another Rainbow Piledriver onto a steel chair.

WWA Champion Carmen Electra v. Nicole Kidman

Short match, as Kidman isn't in Electra's league athletically or in terms of wrestling experience.  The finish came as Electra had just released a body scissors and hit Kidman with an over-the-knee backbreaker into a sidesuplex that seemed to catch Kidman headfirst.  Electra, realizing that Kidman was now vulnerable for knockout moves hit a follow up DDT and then locked in a sleeper hold/body scissors combo.  Kidman passed out almost immediately and lay as limp as a rag doll in Electra's legs and arms, but Electra didn't release the hold for about a minute.  As matches are not ended by knockout, only by pin or submission, Electra could have prolonged the match indefinitely, but instead she released Kidman, allowing her to slump to the mat, and did a full-body pin for the easy 3 count in 5:16.  After the match, Electra left the ring area immediately to loud cheers and an ovation.  Kidman gradually recovered consciousness and left the ring under her own power after about 8 minutes.  Carmen Electra defeated Nicole Kidman in 5:16 with a Sleeper/Body Scissors combination.
